Description
The KNX Basic Course is the first step towards becoming a certified KNX Partner.
- Training will take place at Vimar HQ – Marostica, Italy
- 6 attendees maximum in line with the availability of KNX demo panels for practical session.
- The course will be conducted live in English speech by a certified KNX Tutor, allowing participants to interact directly and ask questions throughout the training.
The Training is structured as follow:
- 2 days of theory;
- 2 days of practice done on certified KNX panel
- 1 day for theoretical and practical Exams.
The Basic Course theory part covers the following topics:
- Introduction to KNX and system arguments
- KNX System Overview
- KNX Topology
- Bus Devices
- KNX Secure
- Twisted Pair (TP) Installation
- KNX Radio Frequency (RF)
- ETS6 Professional
- Practical Exercises
- Commissioning and Diagnostics
The course is completed by a theoretical and a practical examination. To become a certified KNX Partner, participants must pass both exams with a minimum score of 50%. The practical exam evaluates the ability to design and commission a real KNX project.
The participation fee is 1500€ VAT included. The fee includes the daily transfers, Hotel and meals for all the training days.
Pre-requisites
No previous KNX knowledge or certifications are required. However, participants are strongly encouraged to complete the free KNX eCampus available at https://my.knx.org before attending the course, as it provides an introduction to KNX technology and the ETS software. Every Student has to bring a Windows based Laptop with ETS software installed.
Registration
Registration is open for all professional figures who desires to increase the technical expertise on the world's leading open standard for building automation. VAT number of company is mandatory to subscribe the participants to the training.
After registered through Vimar Website the student will receive the course ID via email.
Later on the student has to complete the registration by setup a MyKNX account on KNX website: https://my.knx.org and signing up to the referred KNX Basic Course:
- Go to "Account" menu;
- Select "Applications" menu;
- Click on "Subscribe to a KNX Certified Course" then choose the corresponding Vimar KNX Basic Course to complete the enrollment process from the menu: “You have a Course Code from a Training Center? Find your course.”
- Fill with the Course ID previously received via mail and submit the registration;
- Go to "Course Details" page, scroll the “Course Registration” section, and click "Register to Course"
