Vimar’s technology in the home of the future

Vimar Smart Solar House: La tecnologia nella casa del futuro con Università La Sapienza

Made in Vimar technology and products together to create the home of the future.

This is the result of the partnership between the Company and the Sapienza University of Rome which, with a team of students, will be competing in the Solar Decathlon Middle East 2018 in Dubai, the sustainable architecture university Olympic Games. The goal of the Italian team will be to design and build the best real scale prototype of the home of the future: green, smart and fully powered by solar energy. All themes strongly tied to Vimar’s offer, which with its products will contribute in creating a zero impact home.

The Smart Solar House of Team Sapienza, entirely in wood, will be built and tested in Pomezia near Rome from next December, to be then transported to Dubai, in the place of the competition. Here, between 14 and 29 November 2018, furnished and fully functional, it will be exposed to the public along with other constructions participating in the competition and will be evaluated by an international jury based on 10 contests (hence the name of Solar Decathlon): architecture, constructive system, energy efficiency, renewable sources, internal comfort, equipment functionality, electrical mobility, environmental sustainability, communication and technological innovation.

According to a revolutionary model called Architecture 4.0, the Sapienza project is aimed at applying and testing the most advanced instruments, materials and technologies available today for the construction industry, in order to create a sustainable home capable of responding to the most different energy efficiency, comfort, communication and security needs. For this reason Vimar has been chosen, along with other cutting-edge companies, that thanks to the By-me home automation system will provide the technology required to coordinate all the functions and systems in the house.
