Located in a late 19th Century building that integrates Art Nouveau architecture while maintaining the Hapsburg allure of the city of Trieste, the Hotel Continentale reflects the image of historic “grand hotels”, with a classic elegance typical of the era.
Situated on Via San Nicolò, a five-minute walk from Piazza Unità d'Italia and near the Molo Audace pier, it stands at the heart of the intersection between Central European culture and Italian tradition. The building, on the corner of two streets, rises four stories high and features symmetrically arranged regular openings, with projecting balconies on the first floor. This genuine gem from the past has always maintained its original purpose. Today, following a major restyling after its acquisition by “The Begin Hotel” group, it has been renovated, blending the charm of a golden era with a vision for contemporary hospitality. Upon crossing the threshold of the historic “Café Continentale” - Fine Dining Restaurant, guests are enveloped by an elegant Art Nouveau atmosphere with touches of Art Deco. The intense green of the furnishings and decorated walls creates a refined contrast with the generously sized mirrors, which amplify the space, and with the majestic crystal chandeliers, which diffuse a soft and welcoming light. The hotel boasts 47 rooms and suites, authentic retreats for travellers seeking timeless elegance. They are distinguished by a perfect balance of charm and modernity, with neutral tones ranging from white to cream and beige. Every detail has been meticulously considered with environmental awareness for a vision of responsible luxury. The Hotel Continentale is, in fact, the first historic building to have obtained the prestigious LEED Gold for Interior Design and Construction Hospitality certification, one of the most authoritative acknowledgements in the field of sustainable building.

Great attention has been paid to the selection of materials and resources, prioritising EDP-certified products with a strong focus on eco-sustainability. It is in this context that the Arké Classic series by Vimar is integrated. This product has been evaluated with an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), in accordance with international standards ISO 14040 and 14044, and its process falls within the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). EPD-PEP Ecopassport certifications are available for all Vimar’s high-turnover products in the Eikon, Linea, Arké and Plana series and junction boxes, now covering 36% of the company's turnover. Thanks to its rational geometric shapes and linear profile and clean-cut corners, the Arké Classic series with black technopolymer cover plate, grey controls and customised symbols fits in perfectly here, enhancing the setting with discreet sophistication. What’s more, the adoption of smart technologies for monitoring and control optimises energy efficiency and comfort, reducing waste.

History, tradition, and design: the Hotel Continentale in Trieste is an essential stop for modern travellers in search of a memorable experience. It is an eco-friendly and sustainable vision, where Vimar, through its actions to minimise the environmental impact, confirms itself as a strategic partner and a benchmark in the electrical sector.
