Energy saving, comfort and design, these are the three distinctive characteristics of Vimar’s latest new package of solutions dedicated to the service industry.
What’s more, these new solutions all share one distinguishing feature: speedy installation and commissioning. In fact, installers do not need to resort to special software configurations to automate a simple hotel room, as this can easily be done using the preconfigured Plug&Play solutions. Specifically, these solutions include a new version of the By-me actuator with 9 inputs and 8 outputs dedicated to the automation of the room which, thanks to the Plug&Play mode, requires no programming, making commissioning truly smart: simply connect the devices and the room will immediately be automated.
Compared to the previous version, this actuator offers a further 2 specific preconfigurations for the hotel room, which make it the genuine “heart of the room”. The new ‘’Climate control’’ configuration, thanks to simple logics, adjusts the fan coils and temperature to avoid unnecessary energy wastage caused by air conditioning units left on or windows left open while the guest is away. The ‘’Lights’’ configuration is designed to create lighting scenarios when the guest enters or leaves the room (general off).
The second novelty concerns the Eikon Tactil transponder reader, developed using KNX technology, which is now also available for vertical installation. A device that teams design with functionality.
In addition to the method of installation, the main news concern the room number which can be applied to the new Eikon Tactil plate glass cover plates (using internal labels in mylar) still featuring backlighting with RGB LEDs, for easy identification, even in the dark. The room number can also be customised and amended later, once installation is complete. Immediately eye-catching, Eikon cover plates boast a smooth and bright glass surface which, for the new transponder reader, is available in three different plate glass finishes: white diamond, black diamond and acqua. In terms of connectivity, the KNX language also guarantees a consolidated standard which is growing popular in the world of building automation.

The electronic control, which won the prestigious DAME Design Award 2018, is a concentration of design and technology. Fitted with RGB LEDs that light up the customisable icons, it can interface with third-party automation systems, allowing the control of lights and roller shutters and any other function, while bringing all the elegance of Eikon Tactil to settings such as hotel rooms, offices or boat and yacht cabins.
The package is completed by two other new products: a new stand-alone name label to customise the door bell outside the door, which is compatible with the Eikon, Arké and Plana series: this article, in addition to signalling the statuses Do not disturb and Make up room, also displays the room number. It is a stand-alone motion sensor, suitable for any environment (rooms, bathrooms, corridors, staircases, communal areas) where lighting depends on people passing.
The room status signalling unit is a device designed for signalling which uses RGB LEDs to indicate the Do not disturb, Make up room, Guest present or away statuses. Available in two variants, for indoor and for outdoor use, it is designed to achieve perfectly matching styling in signalling the room status.
