Hotel Imperiale in Rome
Hotel Imperiale in Rome: the charm of the Dolce Vita meets Vimar technology
"Overlooking Via Vittorio Veneto, the renowned Roman street iconic to the Dolce Vita, Hotel Imperiale has welcomed travellers, artists and prominent figures from around the globe for over a century."
Project description
A prestigious late 19th-century building
Set in a prestigious late 19th-century building featuring an eclectic neoclassical style, the 81-room hotel stands out for its symmetrically aligned windows and exquisite Art Nouveau details, including the iconic stained glass of the grand entrance. It is a setting where history, architecture and atmosphere come together, bringing to mind the capital’s timeless allure.
The recent refurbishment led by Omnia Hotels and designed by architect Andrea Auletta offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the spaces whilst preserving their historic heritage. At the heart of the project is a striking grand staircase leading guests to the upper floors. Refined marble carpets define the communal areas, while gypsum mouldings in the guest rooms echo the fluting of Roman columns, contrasting elegantly with parquet flooring and fine fluted panelling.
Linea: bridging history and contemporary style
Within this balance between historical memory and contemporary design, Vimar solutions were selected to complement the interior scheme with discretion and elegance. In particular, the Linea series, in brushed gold as well as total look white and canvas finishes, with axial and home automation system controls, blends seamlessly into the spaces through its sleek and distinctive design. It provides a discreet yet elevating presence that brings together aesthetics, innovation and functionality. This is matched by a strong commitment to sustainability: designed with a sustainable approach, by replacing conventional fossil-fuel-based plastics with plastics from recycled and renewable sources, thanks to optimised production processes and the use of FSC-certified eco-sustainable packaging, Linea achieves a more than 80% reduction of CO2 emissions produced, saving more than 900 tonnes of CO2 each year.
Smart hospitality
The renovation of Hotel Imperiale is completed by an advanced KNX hotel management system integrated with Vimar solutions, installed by Sietec Srl and developed by Energy Project. This technologically advanced infrastructure enables smart hospitality while fully respecting the building’s architectural identity. From check-in and check-out management to light and temperature control, presence detection, and technical alarm and emergency supervision, every function can be programmed and supervised from reception, which acts as the operational hub of the facility. This smart technology streamlines staff workflows and enhances the guest experience, delivering comfort, efficiency and customisation. Inserting the card into the transponder reader automatically activates the lighting, adjusts the temperature according to preset preferences and informs reception of the guest’s presence.
