The charming setting of the ADI Design Museum in Milan played host last 6th November to the presentation of the new edition of the ADI Design Index, curated by the Permanent Observatory which selected Linea by Vimar as one of the best Italian design products on the market which have been short listed for the prestigious Compasso D’Oro award.

Painstaking research and in-depth studies into design have given rise to a veritable item of interior décor: the innovative, clean-cut and understated design and the numerous patents make Vimar’s Linea series truly one of a kind.

Linea means absolute flatness of the cover plate and controls; it means linearity of the axial control and of the button aligned with the slightly curved profile, which features patented in-line technology that returns it to position when operated. What’s more, the detail of the control backlighting, with an illuminated square or a vertical light beam, creates areas of soft brightness.

Linea also means sustainability: the use of sustainable plastics, of innovative production processes with a reduced environmental impact, optimised product volumes along with FSC-certified green packaging reduces the equivalent CO2 by more than 70%. This corresponds to approximately 500 tonnes per annum, figures evaluated via the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach. What’s more, 97% of parts produced contain ISCC PLUS certified sustainable plastic.

The ADI has organised a travelling exhibition, stopping first in Milan, from 6th to 19th November at the ADI Design Museum, and then in Rome, from 27th November to 2nd December at the WeGil, with an inaugural event followed by the ADI Design Index 2023 Innovation Awards ceremony.
