Brands, certificates and certifications

Do you want to know more about the brands of our products (IMQ, VDE, LCIE, SEV, SIQ, Koncar, MEEI, Gosstandart, Ezu, Aenor, BBJ-SEP, TSE, CQC, UL, ENEC, NOM, IRAM, UCIEE, IQC, CSA)? Download the IMQ certificates? You can find it yourself quite easily. Open the product catalogue and search the item number, open the product sheet and click on brands at the bottom right of the page.

Why don't UNIVERSAL SECURITY sockets have the IMQ mark?

UNIVERSAL SECURITY outlets do not have the IMQ mark because, at the moment, there is no CEI size standard which associates the Italian standards with the foreign standards of this socket. These sockets are in any case built according to the requirements of the Italian CEI and international IEC standards, and are self-certified by Vimar.

Is it acceptable if the Bpresa or any other Italian standard socket has an IMQ mark but not the CE mark?

Yes, because in the absence of a European standard for plugs and sockets for domestic use, the CE mark cannot be affixed to these products. The IMQ mark certifies compliance with Italian CEI standards.

What is the difference between the CE mark and others like IMQ and VDE?

The CE mark is an EU requirement and it means that the products comply with the relative norms and regulations, and may circulate freely in member countries. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer or importer to ensure this mark is applied to products that meet the requirements. The IMQ, VDE, etc., marks are voluntary marks awarded by accredited third party institutions who certify that the product complies with technical standards, such as CEI, VDE etc.

Does the CE mark have to be stamped on the body of the product?

No, the CE mark may be stamped on the product and/or packaging and/or any user documents that accompany the product.
