Can I have a Call-way system without ADL EF (article 02094)?
The lack of ADL does not compromise the basic call functions, the but the operation of the system without ADL is not recommended. Without the ADL EF device the system will not comply with the VDE regulation. In Call Way systems without ADL EF, the yellow led on the display modules will flash to indicate the lack of communication with the line coupler (article 02094).
Can I programme old and new MD modules on the software?

How can I recover the ADL EF IP address (article 02094)?
Article 02094 is configured using the network connection and software such as “Device Installer” by Lantronix.

No, there is no guarantee that it will function, we recommended using a PCMCI card with RS232 output for these purposes.

What can I control with the actuators located on the devices?
In the external transponder reader, the internal transponder reader and the thermostat, you can control a maximum load of 24V, 2A (see instruction sheets). While for the Input/Output module, the relays control a maximum 240V, 16A (see instruction sheets).
How many actuators do I need for managing a three-speed fan coil unit?
You need to install a simple actuator for each speed, so there should be 3 relay actuators available in the system, one for each speed of the fan coil.
Can the products be installed outside?
No. The devices are for internal use with operating temperature ranges between +5 °C / +45 °C.

Can I have multiple PCs in a single Call-way system?
Yes. In the Pc multiple stations configuration, only one Pc (main) can perform operations on the Call-way system. The other PCs (secondary) become the remote viewers of the main PC. This characteristic implies the existence of a local network to which connect the PCs involved in the supervision.
If the modules on an ON-LINE or VDE system shows the room number instead of the time, is it correct?
This indicates a communication problem between the Display Module and the PC, so check if the PC is running (with the program started) and that all the terminals are connected correctly on the deployed modules.
During the system self-recognition process, some modules are not seen by the program.
Check the correct connection (input-output) across all Display Modules, remember that the system does not work in star or in parallel connection formats. Also verify that the data line of each line is open, i.e., terminating on the last Display Module and not in a closed loop.
What support relay do I need to link light controls operated from a keypad?
It is possible to connect up to two relays for each keypad. The relay should be chosen according to the load to be controlled, the only advice is to use a relay with a 24 V coil.
What kind of cable should I use for the connection of the call buttons and door lights to the module?
Telephone cable, multi pair cable, UTP cable cat.3, SELV cable with 0.50 mm² (Ø = 0.8 mm) section. Maximum load for external lights 3 x 250 mA Maximum, 3x3W/24VDC.
Can I connect multiple call buttons in parallel on the same input on the module?
Yes. No more than 2 call buttons per input due to the consumption of the assurance indicator lights on the devices.
In an ON-LINE system, if a voice call to mobile, DECT or paging device is required, what devices will I need?
You need at least one Telephone Coupler, part no. 02093 in the system. The system is only compatible with DECT and Paging systems that use the transmission protocol ESPA 4.4.4.
If I use the system in ON-LINE mode, does the PC always have to be connected to the system?
Yes. In this mode, the PC must be running and connected to the system through the protocol converter, part no. 02091.
Is there a buzzer on the Display Modules that sounds when there is a call?
Yes. All Display Modules are equipped with a buzzer.
How many calls can be viewed on the DM?
The maximum number of events recordable on a Display Module is 5. In OFF-LINE mode, successive events appear only when at least one of the previous 5 has been serviced. In ON-LINE mode, all the events are visible on Call-way management software, while the DM shows only the first 5 events not yet serviced. If a higher priority arrives in On-LINE mode, it is displayed first (the other calls are not lost, however).
If I install a system in ON-LINE mode, how many cables do I need?

What are the differences between the OFF-LINE and ON-LINE system modes?
In the OFF-LINE configuration, the system allows for the management of simple assistance calls without any discrimination and does not allow functions with voice and audio. In the ON-LINE configuration, the system provides diversification of the type of call from the modules (normal, assistance, code-blue, fault) in addition to managing intercom/telephone call types as well as the diffusion of the announcement/music channel. Moreover, the software in the latter mode allows the management of profiles/scenarios, different operations based on time periods, recording of system events and other functions useful for the management of the patient.
For the Netsafe structured cabling, what are the distances limits for connection?
The maximum distance between the the socket in the main cabinet-and the corresponding socket near the work place is 90 m, the maximum total length between patch cords and connection to the user equipment is 10 m (5 +5).
How many RJ45 sockets are advisable for an open plan office?
Each work place must have access to at least two RJ45 jacks, normally positioned every 7-8 m2.
What is the difference between the RJ 45 Cat 5 or 5e cabling and T 568A and T 568B?
The two types of socket differ in their wiring schemes at the terminals, but there is no difference in performance. Each terminal is identified by a colour, which should match the colour of the connected cable. In Italy, wiring type T 568B is normally used. Vimar sockets mostly have universal wiring T 568A/B.
